The BiG Youth Social Action Volunteers Scheme

The BiG Youth Social Action Volunteers Scheme supports young men and women between the ages of 16 to 24 who are not in employment, education or training to get back on track. It is a FREE programme:

  • that equips young adults with the necessary tools to enter the labour market through enhancing qualifications, being job ready through developing key skills, and opens up opportunities in your chosen pathway 

  • that consist of two phases with phase 1 aimed at increasing self worth, enhancing self-belief, and confidence, developing resilience and provides platforms for YOU to self discover, learn more about YOURSELF and to strive towards YOUR own chosen pathway

  • that offers support during the 2nd phase where you will engage in education and work experience

  • that provides the opportunity for YOU to enhance education through YOUR preferred route e.g. through a Traineeship programme, specific college course or stand alone functional skills courses

  • Employment opportunities in YOUR chosen pathway

  • Sector Based Work Academies and Apprenticeships opportunities that will lead to employment in YOUR chosen pathway

  • Opportunities to start you own business through entrepreneurship in YOUR chosen area of interest

  • Progress to further education to achieve YOUR goals / strive towards YOUR desired pathways
