Online conduct 

BiG realise that there are many risks associated with almost every IT software, including video conferencing. Risk assessments have been conducted in order to minimise security risks as much as possible. 

Participants are expected to:

·      Dress appropriately 

·      Keep personal items, photographs, etc off screen

·      Agree procedures for communication and behaviour with host i.e. virtual hands up

o   No bullying, harassing or being aggressive 

o   No promotion of harmful behaviour 

·      Base themselves in a room away from distractions 

·      Inform other participants/the host if other people could potentially overhear (confidential conversations can be limited)

·      Not share meeting link with anyone

Participants that have not signed up via the correct avenue may not be allowed in (with exceptions) The host will reject anyone who does not abide by the expectations for behaviour and conduct in video conferencing (see above).

Safeguarding 

BiG is committed to providing a secure environment for all children, young people and young adults. In order to ensure that all children young people, and young adults are safeguarded to the best of our ability, the following things are in place:

·      All participants are aware of conduct online

·      Bullying harassment and aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated - individuals will be removed from online activities immediately and any other appropriate actions under safeguarding obligations will be taken 

·      A designated safeguard lead who is the Director of Operations Lionel Best

·      All staff, including volunteers at BiG will be DBS cleared or, while waiting for the clearance to have gone through, participated in one of BiG’s Safeguarding Risk Assessment sessions and made aware of possible risks, will have undergone / waiting to undergo Safety Online training 

·      All staff at BiG and have an up-to-date DBS

·      All young people doing work experience will undergo an appropriate induction

·      All staff at BiG are expected to adhere to the code of conduct

·       First aid will only be administered by qualified first aiders 

·      No personal information about participants will be shared with anyone outside of BiG unless, the information puts the participant or someone else at risk.
